Winning team

The Governor’s Challenge Trophy 2023 concluded recently with 47 teams engaging from the corporate and the public sectors, where over 250 participants competed. The People’s Bank won the prestigious trophy in its 5th edition. Seylan Bank won second place with DFCC Bank coming third.

Other sector winners were:

• Public sector institutions: Central Bank of Sri Lanka
• Banks and financial institutions: People’s Bank
• Freight forwarding and logistics service providers: Aitken Spence Cargo
• Apparel sector: Ansell Lanka
• Commodity exports sector: Imperial Tea Exports
• Higher educational institutions: The Institute of Chartered Accountants, Sri Lanka
• Other mercantile establishments: Dialog Axiata

The Chief Guest Central Bank Governor Dr. Nandalal Weerasinghe presented the awards, and the Guest of Honour, the High Commissioner of Australia to Sri Lanka Paul Stephens with other senior Government officials and industry leaders presented sectorial awards.

The global commerce quiz is organised by the Shippers’ Academy, Colombo and conducted by International Quizzing Association, Sri Lanka Branch.
